The presidents of this year's EYP:

The presidents of this year's EYP are Oliver Knoll and Elina Weidemann, former students of Weber-School. Both of them are familiar faces at the EYP in Eutin: For Oliver, it is the second time to lead the session as president and in 2023, he and Elina participated as chairpersons of the SEDE committee.

The chairpersons of the committees

The chair-team consists of 12 persons, nine of them are current students of Weber-School. Although their final exams are close, they sacrificed their weekend to support the EYP as a chair person. Tom, who graduated in 2021 has already returned to EYP at Weber-School for the second time. Finally, there are our special guests from Italy who participated as delegates last year.

The Committees:

AFET (Committee on Foreign Affairs)

The lead questions for this committee:

Can the USA still be considered a close and trustworthy ally of the EU? How should the EU react to the second term of Donald J. Trump? How can the EU uphold and enforce a rule based order of international relations?

SEDE (Committee on Security and Defense)

The lead questions for this committee:

How can we protect our independence, defend our values, promote stability and prevent global security crises? How can the EU strengthen its military position, to have more weight globally?

INTA (Committee on International Trade)

The lead questions for this committee:

How can and should the EU react to US-imposed tariffs on goods from the EU? Are counter-measures or negotiations the right path? Should the EU seek out trade agreements with other partners in the world? Should there be an exclusion of trade partners, for example, if those nations do not uphold human rights standards set by the EU?

ITRE (Committee on Industry, Research and Energy)

The lead questions for this committee:
How can the Europe’s demand for energy be met without being dependent from autocracies? How can the industrial transformation towards carbon-neutrality come to fruition? Should the EU consider a harmonised energy supply strategy? How can the EU bridge the gap in key technologies?

ECON (Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs)

The lead questions for this committee:

How can economies within the EU be strengthened to be independent from authoritarian regimes such as China, Russia and Iran and industrial powers such as the US under Trump? What contribution could the strengthening of the currency EURO provide in creating an economically independent EU? How can this economic shift be shaped to be sustainable and socially just?

AFCO (Committee on Constitutional Affairs)

The lead questions for this committee:

How can the EU be made more democratic to gain more support from the citizens? How can the EU be made more efficient in averting crises and tensions? How should the European Union evolve through reform of treaties? How can the “ever-closer union” truly come to fruition?

The EYP Media Team

Hello everyone! We are the Media Team of this years European Youth Parliament project! In the past two weeks, we have already been working intensively on the organisation of the event. For the next three days, our tasks involve photo and video coverage of the event, conducting exciting interviews and keeping you guys on track! You can find our work here on this website and on our official Instagram account.

The Hospitality Team

Like every year the Hospitality Team is responsible for delicious food and drinks. They prepare and serve with much effort and love. But not only this will be handled phenomenally, but also the social activities between the committee work phases, in these social activities the delegates have some fun and get to know each other. The Hospitality Team are the caretakers of the EYP, because they manage everything outside of the work phases!

The international teachers

These teachers from Italy, Romania, France and Sweden accompany the student delegation from their school on their journey to the EYP in Eutin - partly even during their holidays!

Our teachers

Great thanks to the teacher team from Weber-School for making all of this possible! (These are just some members of the team - there were many more involved in the organisation!)
